Annual community events often attract more than 150,000 people to the smallish city. The Saint Louis Art Fair, Taste of Clayton, Gallery Nights, Parties in the Park, and The Big Read literary festival keep the citizens of Clayton engaged year-round.

Things to Do
Shaw Park is a 30-acre destination. The city's largest and oldest park, it is bordered by Forsyth Boulevard and Forest Park Parkway on the north and south, and Interstate 170 and Forsyth Boulevard on the west and east.
The St. Louis Art Fair, consistently ranked among the nation’s top fine art shows, draws renowned international artists from as far away as Argentina. Live entertainment is available on two stages and food is available for purchase.
Taste of Clayton is one of the town’s main annual events. Restaurants from around the city put their best foot forward at the venue, allowing residents to taste samples of their best food and wine.
Oak Knoll Park is Clayton's second-largest park measuring 14.5 acres. Home to a sprawling sample of 150-year-old Post Oak trees for which it was named, the park also has two picnic sites and a quiet pond.

- Fontbonne University, a private Roman Catholic university with an enrollment of more than 1,200 students
